The African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu over the state of the nation.

Speaking during a press conference in his Abuja residence on Tuesday, Atiku charged Tinubu to fight hunger and not the opposition.

He said that so many Nigerians are dying of hardship while several businesses have collapsed due to the economic policies of President Tinubu.

Atiku was reacting to the rising hardship and attacks on opposition figures in the country, stating that Tinubu's government has abandoned Nigerians to hunger, poverty and insecurity, while focusing all its energy on crushing opposition parties ahead of 2027.

"Fight hunger, not opposition parties," Atiku told Tinubu.

According to him, Nigerians cannot afford food, fuel prices are killing businesses, and insecurity is everywhere, yet the only thing the APC government knows how to do is attack and intimidate opposition candidates.
